Tokai Manor House Run – 2013 – Final Instructions

A copy of the email sent those runners who entered online:

Dear runner,

First, our apologies that you received no confirmation email when you entered Tokai Manor House 16km. There was a technical problem. Hopefully this email and attached documents (actually the links in this page) will give you everything you need to know.

Number Collection (actually race-card collection):

Either at:

  1. Sat 21 Dec 2013 from Sportsmans Warehouse Rondebosch from 10am to 5pm. I suggest you don’t arrive at 10am as we will be selling any remaining entries and the queues will be longer then.
  2. Thu 26 Dec 2013 – Race day – at the race field from 6am. I suggest you aim to arrive early, at 6am, as there is normally traffic congestion and then a queue for registration too.

Please bring some proof of identity or your licence number when you collect your entry.

Traffic and Parking:

Traffic becomes congested as there is only a single entrance to the main parking area, so please share lifts and allow enough travel time. There is also a short walk from the parking area to the race field. If you are coming via the Stone Church please use the parking area there.

Please refer to the Flyer: Tokai Manor House 2013 and website for GPS information and a map.

Water and litter:

A reminder that due to the eco-sensitivity of the area you need to bring your own water – either a 500ml bottle or a camelback or similar. There will be a stall selling water at the start area.

Please do not litter in any area. SANParks may withdraw future permission for the race if they think there is too much litter.

Commemorative Finishing Gift:

At the end of the race, please take your race entry card and place it in the plastic finishing pouch which will be given to you as you finish. Then make you way to the results board where you can exchange the race card for a commemorative towel.

Food and drink stalls:

There will be a coffee stall, a cool drink stall and (hopefully) someone selling dried fruit and nuts. After the race we will also be selling our traditional bacon and egg rolls.

Finally, enjoy the race. The course is challenging, there are no finish prizes so take your time to appreciate the views, the company of those around you and the relaxed vibe that this run is noted for.

Wishing you a safe and joyful festive season,

Paul Murphy
