Southern Striders Athletic Club was started and officially registered with Western Province Athletics (WPA) in 1990. We are a small informal running club in Rondebosch, Cape Town and we run for fun – hence our motto. We do have some serious athletes in our midst, but we are a club for everyone.
Southern Striders Athletic Club hosts the following disciplines: Road Running, Walking and Trail Running. Runners and walkers can join as social members if they are not interested in participating in races. Trail runners are also not required to register with Western Province Athletics and can join as social members. Even though we are a small informal running club in Rondebosch, Cape Town our numbers are growing by the day and our members take part in many events throughout South Africa.

Southern Striders Athletic Club is about more than running. It is a running family. The Southern Striders Pom Pom girls are a welcome sight for weary Southern Striders runners at the 51 km mark in Two Oceans race.
We're not only about running! We have a monthly social get-together to relax with our running companions and their significant others.
