What if I am a beginner runner, unfit or I want to start running
We are a beginner running club in Cape Town. If you are new to running and want to start training, our Club members will look after you and support you while you work towards achieving your running goals.
Where do we run
We start running at the Rondebosch Golf Club, and from there we follow various routes through the Southern Suburbs, some of them quite scenic and beautiful.
How often do we run
We meet to walk or run every Tuesday and Thursday at 18h00 at the Rondebosch Golf Club in Mowbray. We also run on weekends - either a race or a training run.
Is Southern Striders Athletic Club affiliated to Western Province Athletics?
Yes, we are. Although we are a beginner running club in Cape Town we also partake in WPA events throughout South Africa and are listed as an affiliated club with Western Province Athletics.

To become a registered runner, you will first need to join our club and then register with Athletics South Africa (ASA). You can't have a Western Province Athletics license without belonging to a running club.
How do I become a member of Southern Striders Athletic Club?
